Privacy Notice

Pre-release notice · Updated September 23, 2026

RigCare is published by Xiangping Du (杜享平). Contact support@yw-times.com for privacy questions. The app is in pre-release testing; iCloud sync is not enabled in the current release candidate. The sync section below describes its behavior when that feature becomes available and is enabled.

Records on your device

RigCare stores vehicle details, maintenance records, checklists, trips, photos and receipts in the app’s storage on your device. It does not require a separate RigCare account. The current app has no advertising or analytics SDK and does not upload these records to a developer-operated application server.

Local-only mode means RigCare’s own iCloud sync is off. Your device’s backup settings, photo-library settings and any files you share are separate and may involve services you choose.

Optional iCloud sync

Sync is off by default. Turning on iCloud Backup & Sync in RigCare uploads app records and their attachments to the private CloudKit database associated with your Apple account, so your devices can sync. Apple operates this service. The app has no developer-operated interface for browsing your private CloudKit records.

Turning sync off in RigCare stops further syncing; it does not request deletion of the existing iCloud copy. The current app keeps its working library separately on the device. Signing out of iCloud pauses syncing; switching to a different iCloud account does not automatically upload this library to that account. RigCare creates a recovery backup before it changes its sync setting. Export a separate backup when you need a copy outside the app.

Apple’s processing is described in Apple’s privacy policy.

Photos and camera

RigCare stores a resized, compressed copy of each attached photo or receipt. An original selected from your photo library stays there; the copy in RigCare follows the app’s storage, sync and export settings. Camera shots can also be saved to Photos when the “Save camera shots to Photos” setting is on and photo-library permission is granted. That setting is on by default.

Purchases

Apple processes App Store purchases. RigCare uses StoreKit transaction information to determine whether Pro is available and saves the last known access status on the device. The app does not collect payment-card details. Purchase management, billing and refunds use Apple’s services.

Backups and exports

A .rigcare backup contains app records, stored attachment copies and the retained history used to reconcile changes between devices. That history can include earlier record versions and photos from entries deleted in the interface. PDF exports contain the service-history information you choose to include. RigCare does not password-protect these exported files. A destination or recipient you choose can access the file you share; its storage and privacy practices then apply.

Deleting an entry removes it from the active view and, when sync is enabled and working, that change can reach your other devices. The current app retains previous versions, deletion entries and related image data in its history; it does not automatically purge them when an entry is deleted. This history is stored locally, included in new backups, and uploaded to private iCloud storage when syncing is enabled. Treat a shared backup as containing this history, not just the records visible in the app. Copies already exported or shared are also unaffected. Deleting the app, managing device backups and removing iCloud data are separate actions.

Support messages

If you choose to send a support email, its recipient and email service receive your email address, message and any attachments you include. The app’s support shortcut prepares an email with app version, operating-system version and device model; you can edit it before sending. Opening the shortcut does not send the message.

Support messages sent to support@yw-times.com are routed by Cloudflare Email Routing to the publisher’s Gmail mailbox, operated by Google. We use messages to respond to support and privacy requests. Messages and attachments remain in that mailbox until deleted by the operator; there is no automatic deletion schedule. To request deletion of a support conversation, contact the same address. Avoid sending a complete backup or personal receipts unless needed for your request.

This website

The static pages in this preview include no mailing-list form, advertising, analytics script, tracking pixel, cookies or browser storage. Fonts and styling are loaded without a third-party CDN.

The website is hosted on Amazon Web Services (AWS). Request information such as your IP address, requested page, browser information and request time may be processed to deliver and secure the site. The RigCare web server does not keep a routine access log; error and infrastructure logs may retain technical request information for troubleshooting and security. Cloudflare provides DNS and email routing. Following an external link opens a service with its own privacy practices.

Contact and updates

Contact Xiangping Du (杜享平) at support@yw-times.com. We update this notice when the app or website’s data handling changes. Requests concerning device records or your private iCloud data may require you to manage those copies on your own devices; we do not have a developer interface to retrieve them.
